Old Roof: Black EPDM Roof with Concrete Pavers
Project Type: Full tear off
New Roof System: Full tear off, adding polyiso insulation with an R25, prefabricated 50 mil Duro-Last that was loosely laid, and then the concrete pavers were reinstalled along with walk pads as needed.
Bonus Challenge: Removing the pavers from the previous roof system, then putting them back in place once the new roof membrane was in place offered quite a challenge. They were heavy and we had to be very careful not to break them. The roof was more than 5 stories high in downtown Austin making it tough to navigate the tight space with a 100-foot crane.
